Choose a setup import
Setup files use a short-lived secure upload followed by server-side verification. Keep the page open through Preparing secure upload, transfer progress and Verifying and saving. An import session is created only after Metra has independently checked the staged source file.
Use Retry upload after a connection interruption. A verification retry does not upload the source again, and Metra never creates import records solely because storage accepted the bytes.
Open Data Import to see the setup catalogue and recent import activity. Select Start import, then identify what the source file contains. Choosing the correct type applies the matching field catalogue, validation rules and destination permissions; it does not merely change the label shown on the import.
For a new organisation, use this order when applicable:
- Organisation structure: clients, sites, timezones and hierarchical locations.
- Equipment categories.
- Asset register.
- Approved controlled libraries already needed by your methods.
- Calibration procedure drafts.
- Calibration requirement-template drafts.
Existing Metra records can satisfy a prerequisite, so you do not need to import every type. The catalogue explains what each type creates and which domain permission execution requires.
For your own laboratory's UKAS calibration schedule PDF, choose Import UKAS Schedule to create a reviewed accreditation draft with scope, CMCs and selected supporting setup. CSV, XLS, XLSX and PDF are supported. Scanned PDF pages require OCR review. Import source documents remain provenance; they do not automatically become controlled evidence.
Imported procedures and requirement templates remain drafts. Import cannot submit, approve, activate or assign controlled records.
If an import is part of your initial configuration, return to Complete your organisation setup afterwards. A successful import may satisfy a deterministic setup item, but skipping or manually reviewing an item never creates imported records.
