Calibration planning

Create a work order

Group calibration requirements into a dated, traceable plan without creating calibration evidence.

Calibration planning For Owner, Administrator, Quality manager

Before this guide: Create a calibration requirement

Create a work order

A work order plans calibration work. It records what needs doing, who or which team is expected to do it, and when it is due. Measurements, certificates and approval evidence remain in the linked calibration event.

Create a manual order

  1. Open Work orders, select Create work order, then choose Select specific requirements. This option lets you pick the exact equipment and active requirement for each work-order item.
  2. Enter a clear title, optional description, planned start date and due date.
  3. Add one or more active calibration requirements. An equipment item can contribute more than one requirement.
  4. Choose an eligible person, team, or both as the default assignment.
  5. Add a person override only where one item needs a different performer.
  6. Review the eligibility labels and create the draft.
  7. Schedule the order when every active item has an eligible assignment.

Metra prevents the same requirement from appearing in another active work order. Moving equipment later does not rewrite its planned placement; the order highlights the difference for review.

Planning is not evidence

Creating or assigning an order does not prove the work was performed and does not grant approval authority. Starting an item opens the normal calibration workflow, where evidence and independent review remain controlled.
