Resolve reference-standard warnings and exceptions

Read every finding before submission.

Warning

A warning allows continued preparation but requires attention. Examples include due-soon calibration, unverified accreditation, qualitative restrictions, late approval, or optional uncertainty gaps.

Prohibited

Normal submission is blocked for expired or uncalibrated standards, invalid source results, missing required certificates, inactive equipment, incompatible quantity, unit or range, blocking restrictions, cycles, or a required chain with no accepted terminal.

Quality and calibration managers may record a controlled exception where organisation policy permits. The reason is mandatory, the original prohibition remains visible, and the independent approver must acknowledge the exception.

An as-found failure prohibits standard use until the related out-of-tolerance case explicitly restores suitability, even if the as-left result passed.

Restoring suitability after an out-of-tolerance result

An as-found failure remains prohibited until the out-of-tolerance investigation reaches a disposition that explicitly restores the standard to suitable service. A passing as-left reading alone does not restore eligibility. The restored state applies prospectively and does not rewrite the original failure, exception, or frozen usage revision.
