Calibration planning

Use the notification centre

Review calibration reminders, follow them to current work, and manage your in-app read state.

Calibration planning For Owner, Administrator, Quality manager, Calibration manager

Use the notification centre

The notification centre shows calibration reminders addressed to your active membership in the selected organisation. Each item is a historical snapshot of the requirement and due state when the reminder was created.

Prerequisites

  • Select the organisation whose reminders you want to review.
  • Have permission to read calibration notifications for that organisation membership.
  • Have permission to read the linked calibration requirement if you need to open its current record.

Open and filter notifications

  1. Select the notification bell in the organisation header, or open Notifications.
  2. Use the unread filter to show unread items or all items.
  3. Filter by reminder type when you need to focus on due-soon, due-today, overdue, or repeat-overdue reminders.
  4. Move through the pages when the result contains more notifications than the current page.

The bell count is scoped to your current organisation membership. If you work in several organisations, switch organisation and review each notification centre separately.

Act on a reminder

  1. Read the equipment, requirement, due date, site context, and reminder type shown in the item.
  2. Follow the notification link to open the equipment and requirement.
  3. Check the current requirement state before deciding what to do.
  4. Record calibration work, correct assignment or responsibility, or ask the appropriate quality user to resolve the current condition.

An old notification does not prove that a requirement is still due or overdue. The requirement may have been calibrated, rescheduled, suspended, or otherwise changed since the reminder was created. The linked requirement and Dashboard show the current Metra-calculated state.

Manage read state

  1. Mark an individual notification as read after reviewing it.
  2. Use the bulk read action when you have reviewed the visible or selected notifications covered by that action.

Marking a notification read updates only your in-app read state. It does not acknowledge calibration work for another user, change the requirement, stop future overdue reminders, or alter email delivery.

Read state belongs to the recipient membership. Another organisation member's notification remains independent, and the same user can have different read states across different organisation memberships.

Understand channels and timing

The notification centre is the retained in-app channel. When organisation policy also enables email and email delivery is available, a corresponding message may be sent to the recipient's account email address.

In-app appearance and email arrival are not guaranteed at the exact configured evaluation hour. Requirements become eligible according to the equipment site's local date after the policy's local evaluation hour, then wait for the scheduled notification process and any channel delivery attempts.

Do not rely on email alone for compliance work. Use the Dashboard, calibration work queues, and notification centre to monitor current obligations.

Expected result

You can distinguish unread from reviewed reminders, follow each reminder to the current calibration requirement, and reduce your unread count without changing controlled calibration records.

Permission caveats

Notification read permission exposes only notifications addressed to your current membership. It does not grant organisation-wide delivery inspection or policy management. A linked requirement can still be unavailable if your membership lacks requirement access or is no longer active.
