Wait for the saved confirmation before leaving a form. A warning about unsaved changes lets you stay and finish your work. Cancel, Escape and clicking outside a dialog also check unfinished edits. While a save is running, its controls prevent another submission or an accidental dialog close.
Recover a local draft
Some creation forms offer Restore unsaved form and Discard unsaved form after you return in the same browser tab. Restore is an explicit choice. Saved server records and their permissions are checked again; a draft from a different organisation, membership, record version or account is not applied.
Recovery is available for supported equipment, requirement, procedure, work-order, decision-rule and uncertainty-budget drafts, historical evidence metadata and editable calibration summaries. It stores selected form values in the current tab rather than submitting them. A saved controlled revision remains a server draft until its normal review and approval are complete.
Local recovery does not keep file contents, passwords, signature images, signing acknowledgements or approval decisions. For historical evidence, reselect every file and confirm its provenance again after restoring the metadata. Controlled review reasons and other forms without a recovery option remain in memory while the form stays open; save before reloading.
Browser storage can be unavailable or cleared. Local recovery is a convenience, not a backup or server autosave.
Resolve a conflict
If a record changes elsewhere, your entered values remain available for review. A 409 conflict means that your attempted change was not applied. Reloading saved details asks before discarding unfinished edits. Review the current record before preparing a new change; an old approval or signature acknowledgement cannot be reused.
A saved confirmation followed by a refresh problem means the save succeeded. Use the offered retry or saved-record link instead of creating a second record. See Resolve editing conflicts.
Sign out
When unfinished edits or recoverable drafts are found in your open Metra tabs, Sign out lets you stay and save first. Confirming sign-out immediately hides protected workspaces and clears local recoverable drafts, setup context and record caches in the connected tabs. Changing accounts or losing access also clears protected local state. Expired sessions can therefore remove unfinished local drafts; save work regularly.
This warning includes group selections, shared procedure responses, device readings, roster changes, withdrawal reasons and individual procedure responses. Stay and save or Cancel keeps these entries in the open workspace and does not start server sign-out. A pending or failed save still counts as unfinished work; wait for its saved confirmation. These entries are not a recoverable local draft: leaving or confirming discard can erase them. Saved server records remain available through their normal permissions.
On a narrow screen, dismissing this warning returns focus to Sign out in the account menu and keeps your entries. Press Escape again to close the menu and return focus to its button.
Metra also asks the server to revoke the session. If that request fails or times out, the page explains that server sign-out is unconfirmed and offers Retry server sign-out. Your local workspace remains signed out. A retry confirmation is shown only after the server confirms revocation.
After confirmation, Signed out. Local drafts have been erased. appears above the sign-in form. A pending message or a server sign-out warning remains visible while the request is unresolved; follow its retry action when offered.
A new public guide tab can recognise the current account through another active Metra tab. Browsers without this tab communication may show Sign in in the new tab; public guides remain readable. The browser session and current organisation permissions still govern every protected request.
Resume an organisation
An ordinary sign-in resumes your last organisation in the current tab when your current active memberships and permissions allow it. With one active membership, Metra can go directly to that organisation. New invitations and pending subscription setup still lead to the appropriate chooser or billing path.
Only an account ID and organisation ID are kept as a same-tab navigation preference after sign-out. They grant no access. Choose Organisations whenever you want to select a different workspace; this explicit choice opens the chooser.
